CREATING FIREBREAKS AND TREE MEASUREMENTS
Tree measurements are growing tree diameter measurements, allocation by species and technical validity categories or specific selections.
Tree measurements are essential to determine an exact timber stock in the felling.
During tree measurements we measure diameter and height of all forested land plot trees, the diameter measurement is taken at 1,3 meter height above the root collar.
Tree measurement is aimed to determine tree diameter, species and height.
After summarizing all tree measures forest owner has a precise information on timber volume and value on his property. This ensures owner a control level in forest felling or property sales case.
Creating firebreaks means marking boundaries. Felling boundaries are marked to be clearly visible.
You can consider a tree stand (not older than 20 years), a glade, land (land use type mustn’t be forest), border path, forest infrastructure object as a clearly visible felling boundary. It can also be a felling border paint or tape marked in the area.
Forest owner or legal possessor is responsible for the borders to comply with the sketch that is submitted to State Forest Service.
